Last week we visited our European factory to inspect the next production of A Desks. Wow, every time I walk into their facility I am blown away by how organised they are. The factory floor is so clean, the machines are immaculate and look top of the range. Since launching the A Desk in April, we’ve sold our first two production orders so it was great to see the next batch being finished. Over the years we’ve learnt that each stage of the production needs to be signed off individually, allowing us to track the quality in detail. This simple tip also helps to bind and motivate the production team, to work as a single entity. Everyone is responsible, everyone cares.
For me working in London will always inflate my design inspiration, but it’s equally important to build supply chains with teams that share values of quality and efficiency. Working together, we realise each product by optimising the production process and minimising waste material to ensure that everything we design is beautifully made.
