Naked Furniture
Last week I drove up to Long Eaton to visit an upholstery factory. The journey was long but as I was shown into the main production studio, I was instantly inspired.
My eyes scanned the room at speed, intrigued by rolls of textures, naked furniture, sewing and CNC machines. What a great place to work. It’s easy to forget the many layers and stages required in upholstering a piece of furniture, especially the bigger pieces like sofas and armchairs. A labour intensive, skills based process that I find really exciting. As our product ranges develop, I hope we can start an upholstered piece of furniture in 2015.
